Switched from Windows to Ubuntu

I've switched from Windows to Ubuntu since half a year and I don't look back. I can recommend every python developer to do the same as the batteries included in Ubuntu are a python paradise. Of course I will continue supporting SPE on Windows and Mac as well. Watch out this blog as I will post here updates about SPE and some useful things about python, Ubuntu, UML, ...

  3. I have installed windows version but can not run it.
Looking the Programs tab I see that aims to some .py.
I'm not sure that such call will open/run as a winodws program

  4. In order to run SPE you need to install python from www.python.org and wxpython 2.6 from wxpython.org.

I am working on a compatible version for wxPython2.8

  5. I am so pleased you are working on an update. This is an awesome editor for python and wxPython. Cannot wait for the wxPython 2.8 version.

Any time frame for a beta?

  6. I have been waiting for your site to get back up. I wanted to get the manual. Any chance you could make it available again?

    Thanks

  7. That's great news Stani. I'm downloading the subversion now and will try it out.

This is, by far, the best Python IDE out there.
    Donation on its way!

If you checkout from subversion, you might want to give it a try. No timeframe yet, but I guess maybe in the end of next week.

    @jaap

The manual online has to wait till I have the full site up (maybe in a month). But if you donate (paypal, stani.paypal*gmail#com) any amount, I'll send you by email.

  10. Ubuntu is great :)
Not to do with Ubuntu, or spe per se, but I can't subscribe to the Atom feed at the end of your blog. It just show up the atom source, but not asking me to subscribe.

btw, can you add the blog to planetpython.org?

  11. scrap that part about the atom feed, it works on my third try.
Still please consider planetpython tho :-)

Ok, I'll add it to planet python. Appearantly there are two: an official and unofficial one. Why is that?

  13. Welcome back! This is the best python editor IMHO. I don't see a donate button/link on this blog. I would like to contribute in the future.
